The best baby Shower games

icebreaker games

Icebreaker games are perfect for getting your guests talking, the games can inspire people to introduce themselves and even create brand new friendships.

1. Guess Who?

What will you need –

  1. Baby photo of each guest (numbered)
  2. Numbered blank lists, one for each guest
  3. Pens or pencils

How to play –

When you plan your baby shower you will send your invitations to all your guests. You will ask your guests to bring a baby photo of themselves so they can take part in the game. As guests arrive at the baby shower you will collect all the photographs, as the shower begins you will display the photographs around the room with each being numbered. Give each of your guests a blank numbered list and get them to guess who is each photograph.

This game is perfect as it will get all your guests chatting and talking about how cute everyone was!

2. Fishing for Dummies

What you’ll need –

  • A large container or baby bath
  • 15 Dummies
  • Prizes

How to play –

This game is one that is really good fun! Firstly you will want to fill your large container or baby bath, and then create some “fishing rods” you can do this with bamboo canes, string and hooks. Once you have all of these you will want to fill the tub with the dummies and let your guests try their luck at fishing the dummies out.

The bonus of the dummies is that they can be used again in the future, sterilise the dummies and give them to the mum to be.

3. Don’t say baby!

What you’ll need –

  • 5 pegs

How to play –

This game is one of the easiest to play. As your guests arrive to your baby shower you will give them five pegs each. The only rule to this game is that you’re not allowed to say the word “baby.” Make sure everyone keeps listening for if someone says the word “baby” if they do they get to take one of their pegs. The guest that has the most amount of pegs at the end of the baby shower is the winner!

This game is one that gets guests interacting with one another and allows for that comedy factor. It may also allow for some cute nicknames for the mum to be to call her bundle of joy.

4. Find the guest

What you’ll need –

  • Pen and paper for each guest
  • Computer and printer or photocopier

How to play –

Before your guests arrive you will want to make a note of any funny facts you know about each of them. Once you have all your facts you will want to type up your facts as a long list without saying which fact belongs to who. Give a list to each guest and they will need to get to know each other quickly in order to find out which fact belongs to a certain guest. You will want to set a timer and after the allotted time the guest with the most correct answers is the winner.

Funny Baby shower games

1. Baby Food Taste Test

What you’ll need –

  • Different baby food pots in different flavours
  • Sticky labels
  • Pen and paper
  • A spoon for each guest

How to play –

You will want to get several different baby foods and take the labels off each one, and just write a letter on each one. When your guests are ready give them a spoon, pen and paper, get them to taste each jar and guess what is in each jar. The person with the most correct answers is the winner.

2. NAppy change relay race

What you’ll need (for each team)  –

  • 1 pack of Newborn Nappies
  • 1 packet of baby wipes
  • 1 baby blanket
  • 1 baby doll

How to play –

You will want to split your guests into two even teams, you will then line them up. Each team starts with the baby doll wearing a nappy and wrapped in a baby blanket. When you give the go ahead the game will start and the first person in the team changes the nappy, wipes the babies bottom with a baby wipe, putting on another nappy and rewrapping the doll in the blanket. The doll is then handed to the next person in the line ready to changer the doll. Once everyone on the team has changed the doll’s nappy once they’re the winners.

3. Hang the nappy

What you’ll need (for each team) –

  • 1-2 packs of newborn nappies
  • Mini clothes pegs
  • Pieces of string two to three meters long

How to play:

Make a pretend washing line with the string, split your guests into two teams, set a timer and your guests have to hang up as many nappies as possible. The team with the most nappies hung on the line wins.
