Dog Walks near darren bedding photography
dog photography oxford
Are you looking for Dog Walks around the Leamington Spa and Oxford area? Here at Darren Bedding Photography we are blessed with beautiful Dog walks. With a Cockapoo myself I know how relaxing and therapeutic it can be taking your beloved pooch for a walk.
Canons Ashby is just 7 miles away from the studio. Whether its a walk in the parkland with your family or lunch in the tea garden while your pooch relaxes. At the moment from Today 5th July they are trialling well behaved dogs being allowed into all areas of the beautiful formal garden, dogs must be kept on a lead. Assistance dogs are normally allowed in, however this trial is to monitor whether they allow all dogs in.
Dogs are welcome anywhere except for the children Wild Play Corner however they must be kept on a short lead. You can access the parkland by walking across the top terrace of the garden. There is a wonderful parkland area with wildlife and animals, It is a peaceful and relaxing walk! Only thing to be wary of is that there are local stiles are filled in underneath in order to prevent lambs from escaping, if you can lift your dog over the stiles then it is accessible. The fields have both sheep and cows in all year rounds which is why you need to keep your pooch on a lead.
What do you need to be aware of when visiting canons ashby?
- Take your lead, this prevents your pooch from disturbing the wildlife; cows & sheep.
- Must be aware of your dogs movements as not everyone likes dogs and they want everyone to enjoy their day.
- Some of the plants at Canons Ashby can be poisonous to dogs so just be careful
- The children Wild Play Corner is for assistance dogs only
I absolutely love Canons Ashby and it is National Trust walk. For more information on Canons Ashby click here.

It is a wonderful place to go and relax with your four legged friend, it has even been awarded the Country Parks Accreditation and also holds a Green Flag award for being one of the best green spaces in the country. The park is only going to her better with major improvements currently being made. The improvements are going to include the play area being improved, cafe, paths and walkways, jetties and also the toilet facilities.
If you’re dog is like Dexter and loves water then I would recommend taking a towel, the water is clean and is perfect in the warm weather for swim. It’s a lovely family walk, the track is fairly flat so is perfect for wheelchairs and pushchairs so the whole family can enjoy the fresh air. Your children will absolutely love it with the playground and also there is plenty of opportunities to feed the ducks. You may want to look out for events here as they often hold an outdoor cinema which is a perfect evening out during the summer.
I can’t recommend this park enough, myself and Dexter absolutely love going to the country park.
Another relaxing walk with your pooch is round Banbury’s reservoir, it is relatively small boating lake, you will often find windsurfers and kayaks on the water. You can go through the woodland which makes the walk a little longer and you will find yourself next to the canal which is another lovely place to walk along which will take you all the way to Oxford. I often enjoy taking Dexter to the reservoir in the evenings as the sunsets can be stunning. In the centre of Banbury it is easily accessible.
Banbury to drayton fields
This is one of mine and Dexters favourite walks, only 10 minutes from the studio. The walk is beautiful fields with lots of paths and sheltered bridal ways, depending on how far you want to walk you can either have a short or long walk. A long walk will take you a good 10 miles, which will take you through the countryside of surrounding villages it really is a beautiful walk.
Here at the studio we have wonderful walks, with the wonderful village pubs that we have alongside the country walks makes for a relaxing day out. We have miles of fields to walk around, alongside the river Cherwell if your pooch enjoys a swim. Dexter absolutely loves his morning run round the fields before we start work, and it certainly relaxes myself before work.
